STAR School Visit

            On the 27^th September 2014, our school was graced with the presence of 38 students from Sekolah Tunku Abdul Rahman with the accompaniment of Mr. Rosli bin Ahmad, the Penolong Kanan Kokurikulum Sekolah Tunku Abdul Rahman, Ms. Cho Lai Fuen and Mr. Eric Tang Tien Yong. Their arrival was welcomed by Mr. Lau Swee Mun, our principal, Mr. Teh Eow Kok, our Penolong Kanan Kokurikulum and USST committee members.

            Our guests from Sekolah Tunku Abdul Rahman were first led to the field where they were shown the unit uniforms' marching. This included Sam Tet Malaysian Red Crescent Perak Youth 7, Sam Tet Cadet and Sam Tet Tai Chi Society. Following that, the entourage from STAR was entertained with a lion dance by the Wushu Club. The Wushu club also performed some wushu styles with knives, swords and spears which left the spectators in awe. Other performances such as dragon dance and drums were also presented by the Wushu club. The list of performances ended with members from the Tai Chi Society demonstrating some Tai Chi moves. Next, some tokens of appreciation were given to the representatives of Sekolah Tunku Abdul Rahman and them to us.

            To end the visit, the entourage from STAR were shown around in an expedition prepared by the Chinese Society, Chinese Debate Club, Tai Chi Society, Chinese Orchestra and Art of Self-Defense. The students from STAR were also shown the ways of calligraphy and were given chances to participate. They gladly participated and brought home their handiwork proudly.

            The boys from the famous boarding school STAR, Ipoh, learn Chinese in school. They are amazed by our school's Chinese culture such as Wushu and Taichi. We hope to be leading in sharing the Chinese culture to other races in Malaysia in the true spirit of 1MALAYSIA.
