2007 International Understanding Day

I.U Day is a well known event in SMK Hwa Lian. It is the International Understanding Day organized by the Interact Club. This activity started at 2pm at SMKHL Xiang Gui hall on 22^nd September 2007.

After the arrival of guests, the function began. The first performance was the Chinese Drum which represent the Chinese's culture. The next performance was the Musical Box presented by the Interact Club's vice president and a small little clown. It was very interesting. The attire worn were funny and their actions synchronized with the music. After the musical dance, It was time for speeches. The speeches were given by the principal, followed by the Rotary representative, the Interact Club teacher advisor, the president of Interact Club and lastly the Interact Club's I.U Director.

The theme for this year I.U Day is OUR LIFE, WAY, CULTURE. So, the Interact board chose some cultural performances to bring out the meaning of the theme. The performance after the speeches was the Iban Dance, followed by the drama together with the theme song "We're All In This Together". There was refreshments for the guests, the Indian dance was the next performance after the refreshments. The Indian guys showed off their talent in dancing.

Beside these, there were also some modern and trendy performances like Korean Dance and the break dance battle. All of them put in a lot of efforts to present the best show especially the break dancers. They did difficult and complicated moves. The audiences were thrilled and exhilarated. They were shouting during the break dance battle. Next, was the band performance by the Interact board and a few outsiders. They presented a few latest songs and some of the audiences also sang along. Lastly, they played their theme song once again. "We're All In This Together, Once We Know, That We Are..." That was the happy ending for 2007 International Understanding Day.
