24th October 2014 was a memorable day for the graduates of 2014. The morning was buzzing with excitement and nostalgia simultaneously. The ceremony was officiated with a drum performance by the Wushu Club. Student representative, Loh Wai Kei, was then invited to deliver her speech. Following that, speeches were given by Dr. Wong Fai Thin, Chairman of the Sam Tet Old Boys' Association, Mr. Yap Kim Pong, Chairman of the Parent-Teachers Association, Mr. Lau Swee Mun, the principal of SMJK Sam Tet and Reverend Father Stephen Liew, Chairman of the Board of Governors of SMJK Sam Tet respectively.
The ceremony then proceeded to the most anticipated programme- the award presentation. The awards include the 2014 Academic Excellence Award, the Co-curricular Excellence Award and the Co-curricular Achievements in 2014. A mock cheque was presented to Reverend Father Stephen Liew by student representatives, Ng Weng Kin, Chan Pei Tong and Hew Kee Siang. Our principal, Mr. Lau was then invited to present a token of appreciation to Reverend Father. Next, the form 5 students presented a few songs namely "Stay with me", "Eyes, nose, lips" and "All of me." The Harmonica Band then hopped onto the bandwagon and performed "I Knew You Were Trouble" beautifully. The ceremony then went on with the rest of the award presentation. This significant day ended with the sixth formers' performances. First off was a multimedia presentation, followed by a dance and a medley of "Memori Tercinta" and "一路上有你".
