“THE SCHOOL IS YOUR COMMUNITY, THE COMMUNITY IS YOUR SCHOOL” Rationale: In view of current exam-oriented education system in our Malaysian classroom and the problem of high number of university graduated in our country who lack the necessary skills for the job market, it is , therefore, deemed necessary that a more dynamic learning environment be created and developed in schools to meet the challenges of the 21st century whereby people skills and thinking skills are to be valued. Aim: To establish genuine collaborative partnership with the global community and various support groups in the local community such as parents / careers, creative professional, business people, media, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and the environment in the school. Objectives: 1. To explore creative risk-taking and innovation with regard to changing people’s mindsets about education. 2. To complement the national curriculum and to enrich school life by making the best use of talents amongst members of the community. 3. To promote the idea that everyone has the right to participate and contribute towards the education of society in the environment. 4. To develop a greater sense of responsibility from the community towards education in school. 5. To develop the capacity of the community to work effectively in schools. 6. To explore what education for the 21st century might be.
