Subang Jaya – Andaman Group will be organizing two charity concerts this year to raise funds and awareness for “SJK (C) Sam Tet”, “SMJK Sam Tet” and “Yayasan Pendidikan John Moh” in conjunction with Sam Tet 60th Anniversary Celebration. As an alumnus, Dato’ Patrick Teoh, who is executive chairman of Andaman Group, is extending a helping hand by contributing toward these causes and it’s part of our corporate social responsibility to the community.
The goal is to raise RM300,000 and all funds gathered from the concert will be shared equally between the three beneficiaries. The funds raised will be utilised in building new halls, maintenance, school activities, upgrading of educational facilities, as well as helping underprivileged students in need.
SMJK (C) Sam Tet is an all boys’ national school located in Ipoh, Perak and was built in 1934. The Yayasan Pendidikan John Moh is a private foundation formed by the alumni of Sam Tet in 1995. The foundation was formed in recognition of Rev Brother John Moh’s tireless efforts towards bettering the school and its education standards.
The first fundraising concert will be held at The Syuen Hotel Grand Ballroom, Ipoh on 7 June 2012 at 7.00pm. The concert is themed “The Jazzy Sounds of Teresa Teng” and will be led by pianist and music director Tay Cher Siang, who will be aided by famed guitarist Roger Wang and Winnie Ho, a distinguished vocalist.
The next fundraising concert dinner, themed “Yesterday Once More”, revitalizing Chinese Oldies of 70s, 80s and 90s will be held at The Tropicana Grand Ballroom, Ipoh on 8 June 2012 at 7.00pm. It will be performed by Winnie Ho and Worm Lee.
