On the 4th of May 2016, SMJK Sam Tet held a welcome and registration session for new lower six students for the year 2016/2017. On that day, 161 students gathered at the basketball court in the morning for registration. They were divided into 12 groups with a leader appointed and tasks were given to each group in order to conduct the ice-breaking activities after their registration. After the recess , speeches were given by the school principal, Mr Lau Swee Mun, Kinta District (N) Education Officer, Mr. Wan Mohd. Jeefri Bin Wan Jusoh and Sixth Form Senior Assistant , Madam Ng Sook Chin to the newcomers. Mr Chan Chee Wai who is the head of the discipline teacher gave a talk about the rules and regulations and Mr. Chan Wai Keong who is the head of Counselor, explained to the students about the choices of the package provided for their studies. Lastly, a team -building session entitled "Sam Tet Got Talent" was held among the students.

2016年5月4日为本校中六新生迎新与报到日。在学校篮球场集合后，161位新生们前往礼堂办理入学登记手续。在领取各自的文件夹后， 新生们被分为十二组以及选出各自的领导以进行被委派的任务。下课后，本校卓越校长刘瑞文先生，近打县助理学校管理单位（学生），Mr. Wan Mohd. Jeefri Bin Wan Jusoh，中六副校长黄淑贞女士致词以为此报道日开幕。黄淑贞女士让新生们了解中六生未来的去向，纪律老师则陈智伟讲解纪律问题而陈伟強辅导老师讲解所选择的课业配套。命名为“ Sam Tet Got Talent” 的激励士气环节为此报到日拉下帷幕。

4 Mei 2016 merupakan hari pendaftaran bagi 161 orang pelajar baru Tingkatan Enam Rendah 2016/2017, pelajar-pelajar tersebut berkumpul di gelanggang bola keranjang pada awal pagi sebelum sesi pendaftaran bermula. Selepas itu, pelajar-pelajar dibahagikan kepada 12 kumpulan dan ketua kumpulah turut dipilih serta tugasan diagihkan. Selepas waktu rehat, ucapan oleh Pengetua Cemerlang, En. Lau Swee Mun, Penolong PPD Menengah (Murid), Unit Pengurusan Sekolah, Mr. Wan Mohd. Jeefri Bin Wan Jusoh telah merasmikan majlis ini. Penolong Kanan Tingkatan 6, Puan Ng Sook Chin memberi taklimat berkaitan halatuju Tingkatan 6. En. Chan Chee Wai, Ketua Guru Disiplin memberi taklimat tentang disiplin pelajar dan En. Chan Wai Keong, Ketua Guru Kaunseling memberi taklimat tentang pemilihan jurusan dan pakej mata pelajaran. Aktiviti tersebut diakhiri dengan Sesi Bina Semangat bertema " Sam Tet Got Talent ".
