培南国中英语月（1.3.2004－31.3.2004） SMJK POI LAM English Language Month(1 March 2004 to 31 March 2004) 1. Principal’s Speech The principal, Mr. Lee Soo Mee talked of the importance of English especially in Mathematics and Science. He voiced the concern that the reason students were weak in spoken and written English was because of the lack of a conducive environment in school and at home. He expressed the hope that our experienced staff of English teachers will be able to raise the standard of English. He also hope that the Interactive Board put up for the English Language Month will be well used and that the activities will continue even after the English Language Month. Mr.Lee thanked the teachers and hoped that the English Language Month will be a success. 2. Proposed Activities. Morning Session i) Public Speaking ii) Essay Writing Competition iii) Interactive Board iv) Songs v) Dictation Competition Afternoon Session. i) Sing-along session in class through the P.A. system ii) Story-telling Competition iii) Poem recitation for Remove Classes iv) Students read to the class from Newspaper cuttings v) Name the objects vi) English is to be spoken for the first 5 minutes of every lesson
