The Nation's Premier Science Challenge

The National Science Challenge (NSC) is the nation's premier science competition for high school students. This one-of-a-kind competition has sparked the knowledge of hundreds of thousands of students and enhanced science exploration, innovation and communication across Malaysia. Students would gain the opportunity to explore the world of science and understand science and technology concepts through interesting hands-on experiences. Students would also get to know and directly interact with the young scientists from Young Scientists Network Malaysia in different field of studies especially at the Semi-final level.

Humble Beginning

The National Science Challenge (NSC) has its humble beginning as a mere science quiz organized by a group of scientific organizations in 1983. For the past 30 years, NSC has positively impacted science education in Malaysia and improved interest in science among the youths. NSC that is based on Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics disciplines, exposes students to practicing scientists and career choices, and energizes students through a dynamic hands-on experience in learning science.

The champion of this Challenge will have the opportunity to join the ASM delegation for a Study Visit to Stockholm, Sweden and witness the prestigious Nobel Prize Award Presentation Ceremony held each year on 10 December. Besides attending the prestigious event, the winners and members of delegation will be able to attend all the activities organized in conjunction with the ceremony such as Nobel Lectures, Nobel Reception Dinner, Visit to Nobel Museum, Visit to Science Centre and much more
